Race Report / Minneapolis SX
Round 6 of the Monster Energy Supercross made its way to Minneapolis Minnesota this past weekend. The weather outside was miserable but likely the US bank stadium was nice and cozy. This would be the first round of the East Coast Supercross series where Answer Racing would have a whole new group of riders.
The JGR MX/Yoshimura/Factory Suzuki team would have Alex Martin and Kyle Peters fighting for the 250 East Championship. Both riders would make it out of their heat races and would have great gate picks for the Main Event.
Alex Martin would jump out to a great start and would circulate the tricky Minneapolis in 3rd place for the majority of the race. With just under a lap to go, Martin got passsed and would end the race in 4th place. After the race Martin stated, "It was a good race overall, I had to deal with a few lappers that allowed Cooper to to set up a passs on me. It was a bummer not to finnish on the podium , but to be honest, fourth is the best start I've had to a Supercross season."
Kyle Peters would make his SX debut this past weekend and would end up 10th overall on the night. Kyle had a great heat racce but struggled on the start and would have to push his way to the front. "The day was okay. I was riding stiff andd didn't breathe and pumped up badly. I know what I need to work and it was great to be behind the gate again.
Other Answer Racing notable finishes were:
Josh Carttwright - 19th
Wilson Fleming - 22nd
