Cairoli and Prado Sweep Argentina GP
Round one of the 2019 MXGP series in Argentina went off this past weekend in front of a massive crowd. Answer Racing's Antonio Cairoli and Jorge Prado put on a show for the South American fans by making it a clean sweep on the day.
Antonio Cairoli had some mechanical issues on Saturday forcing him to DNF the qualifying race and have an outside gate pick for the openinng moto on Sunday. Tony still managedd to get a top five start and set his sights on the front runners. Cairoli made quick passes on the opening laps to gain the lead and he would not look back from there. Tony woudl score the win ahead of Gajser and Febvre. The second moto would like the same as Tony came out of the gate quick and by halfway would put himself into the lead taking the overall with a 1-1 moto score on the day.
Jorge Prado would come into the 2019 season as the man to beat after claiming the world championship in 2018. Prado is a great starter and that was the case this weekend too. He would just be edged out on the start in moto 1 but would make quick work of his teammate and put down solid laps to claimm the victory. Moto 2 would see Jorge jump out to the holeshot and run out front the entire moto to go 1-1 on the day and take the red plate back to Europe.
Round 2 will take placce in Great Britain in 2 weeks time where Tony and Jorge will look to keep their dominance!
